Jaime Holt, PT, MPT, SCS, CSCS
Co-owner and Sports Orthopedic Physical Therapist
Jaime is the co-owner and founder of Holt Physical Therapy & Performance Training. He received his Master’s in Physical Therapy in 1999 from East Carolina University, and has been a physical therapist in the Raleigh area for over 16 years. In addition, Jaime earned a Master’s degree in Adapted Physical Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University, where he was a 4-year letterman on the Men’s Tennis Team. Jaime is ana American Physical Therapy Association Board Certified Sports Rehab Specialist, a certification held by only 1400 physical therapists in the United States. In 2012, he became the 21st Physical Therapist trained in Dry Needling in North Carolina, and also became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Over his career, he has rehabilitated and trained athletes in the NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, PGA, MMA, CrossFit Games and a variety of higher level collegiate and high school athletes. In October 2010, Jaime traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia and Helsinki, Finland to be the Physical Therapist for the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere with the Carolina Hurricanes and was named the PT for the 2011 NHL All Star Game in Raleigh. Jaime was a physical therapist at The Open in 2012 at Royal Lytham and St. Annes and the 2014 US Open at Pinehurst. Jaime is also an educator with Allied Health Education in Raleigh, NC, has authored and been quoted in several articles for Advance for PT Magazine, was a presenter for www.sportsrehabexpert.com, and was a speaker and moderator at the Friesen Physio Fitness Summits.
Jennifer L. Streeter, PT, DPT
Staff Physical Therapist
An Eastern North Carolina native, Jennifer joins the Holt Physical Therapy team having received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Elon University, and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University. Prior to joining Holt PT, Jennifer worked in a privately owned, out-patient orthopedic clinic in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She is Trigger Point Needling certified, a certified RockTape Provider of Fascial Movement Taping (FMT), and is trained and skilled in running mechanics and performing running analysis.
Jennifer enjoys running, hiking, playing soccer and volleyball, and her passion for physical therapy is devoted to helping people return to a healthy and active lifestyle. She enjoys working with people with varying impairments, however her strong passion and clinical interest is the diagnoses, treatment and prevention of athletic injuries, and mobilization of the shoulder and spine. Her treatment approach includes the appropriate use of manual therapy coupled with therapeutic exercises, patient education, and the implementation of a home exercise plan, which are all vital to successful rehabilitation!
Jennifer is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has career aspirations of completing a residency in either orthopedic or sports therapy.
Jon Haimes, PT, DPT, CSCS
Raised in High Point North Carolina, Jon joins the Holt Physical Therapy team having received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2012 from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina. He completed his orthopedic and sports clinical internship at Champion Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. Additionally, he is dry needling certified, has been an active and published member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2010. Prior to joining the team at Holt PT, Jon worked at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Florida as an outpatient orthopedic, neurological, and vestibular specialist as well as a post-operative acute care therapist.
Jon enjoys an active lifestyle and participating in many sports including basketball, ultimate frisbee, and disc golf. He grew up as an avid high school athlete playing soccer, wrestling, and distance running, where he developed his interest in fitness, athletics, and sports performance. Jon enjoys working with people of all levels of physical ability from high caliber athletes to exercise novices and has a true passion for helping people overcome their physical impairments in order to return to their favorite activities without limitation. His comprehensive treatment approach focuses on the restoration of healthy whole-body movement patterns through the targeted use of manual therapies and therapeutic exercise in order to help his patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. He particularly loves helping his patients not only get back to but to exceed their previous personal performance records!
Jon has aspirations of becoming an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Board Certified Sports Rehab Specialist.
Elizabeth Fortener, PT, CSCS
Liz is originally from Ohio and received her Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Ohio in 2005. Liz moved to Raleigh in 2008 and worked closely with Jaime Holt for several years at the Athletic Performance Center. She spent the last 3 years doing Travel Physical Therapy and has traveled all over the country practicing Physical Therapy in the outpatient orthopedic setting in 6 different states. She is excited to be returning to Raleigh, and is a great addition to our Holt PT staff.
Liz grew up participating in many sports including soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track. She suffered numerous knee injuries, which eventually led to knee surgery while she was in High School. Having to go through the rehabilitation process is when she decided to become a Physical Therapist. She has a passion for helping athletes of any age return to their sport of choice. She feels that education is one of the most important aspects of any rehabilitation program and includes it in every treatment session.
Liz is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is also a Graston Technique provider, which is a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and has completed the Kinesiotaping courses by the Kinesiotaping Association.
Abby Whiteside, ATC, LAT, CSCS
Licensed Athletic Trainer
Abby comes to Holt PT after working with the Sports Medicine department at North Carolina State University, where she was the head Athletic Trainer with the women’s soccer team. Additionally, she served as the supervisor to the graduate assistant with the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams.
Originally from Milford Center, Ohio, Abby attended Otterbein University (Westerville, OH), a CAATE accredited program, where she received her undergraduate athletic training degree. She continued her education by attending NC State University as a graduate assistant, and received her Master’s of Education degree in adult and higher education with a concentration in health professions. Following her stint as a graduate assistant, she joined Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic at the Athletic Performance Center, where she worked closely with Jaime Holt and gained extensive experience rehabilitating and training elite athletes.
Abby is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is also Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM) certified and has completed the EMT basic course with plans to take the national exam.
Lauren Yaeger, ATC, LAT, CSCS
Licensed Athletic Trainer
Originally from southern Illinois, Lauren joins Holt PT after previously working with the women’s softball and dance teams at East Carolina University.
Lauren attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in athletic training from a CAATE accredited program. She went on to serve as a Graduate Assistant at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana while obtaining a Master’s Degree in Sports Performance. While at Ball State, Lauren worked with women’s softball and men’s/women’s swimming and diving teams, and had the opportunity to travel to NCAA regional tournament with women’s softball in 2015.
Lauren is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is also certified in lower extremity Positional Release Therapy and is continuing to take courses in Postural Restoration techniques through the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI).
Leigh Sterrett, CPT & Certified Health Coach
A certified personal trainer since 2002, Leigh’s overall emphasis is on functional exercise while creating a fun environment. Although every workout is individually designed, she incorporates a great deal of core and balance work in her clients’ programs while building strong, toned bodies. Leigh is also a certified health/nutrition coach. A firm believer that “food is information” to our bodies, Leigh educates her clients on why this is true and how food, along with exercise, has such a positive impact on their overall quality of life.
